Mission Statement
Milwood Christian Reformed Church is called by God to grow in our love for Him, each other and our neighbors.  We are committed to:

  • Glorifying God in Worship and Prayer
  • Gathering as a Caring Community
  • Growing through God's Word
  • Giving of Ourselves and Resources in Service to Others
  • Going out to Share the Good News and God's Compassion for His world.
Statement of Faith
Milwood Christian Reformed Church is a part of the worldwide community of those who worship God through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are a part of the Christian Reformed denomination, which grew out of the Protestant Reformation of the 1500s. As a congregation, we have ministered to the Milwood neighborhood and the city of Kalamazoo since 1931.

Our beliefs are based on the Bible, the only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

We worship one God, who has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Because human beings sinned, we are not capable of serving God rightly and truly unless we accept the saving work of Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God who came to earth, suffered and died for our sake to break the power of sin in our lives and in the world.

After he rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, Jesus Christ sent the Holy Spirit upon his church to give believers the power to live renewed lives.

The church is Christ's living body on earth. We are called to be God's covenant people and to use the gifts He has given us to reach out to others with the good news of His mercy and grace.

Milwood Church recognizes the authority of several creeds and confessions which summarize the teachings of the Christian faith.  Please note that any use of the word “catholic” in the creeds or confessions is a reference to "the true Christian church of all times and all places". The word is not a reference to the Catholic faith:
Together with Christ's whole church on earth, we look forward to the day when God's work of salvation will be complete, and His people will live with Him forever in heaven.
