ABOUT US

Milwood Community Church has been serving the city of Kalamazoo in the Milwood neighborhood since 1931. We are part of the Christian Reformed Churches of North America. We aim to serve each other and our neighbors and strive to offer anyone who comes through our doors with a warm welcome, a loving and safe-church-approved atmosphere, and most importantly a place where you can learn more about Jesus.

You are invited to join us during our weekly worship services at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings. We also offer family-friendly events, such as WHAM on Wednesday nights during the school year, and other public events such as Coffee Break - a Bible study and fellowship time for any women who need a break and want to deepen their Bible knowledge.

Becoming a member means a lot of different things on many levels. First, joining a church community surrounds you with God’s tangible presence in and through his people, the church. Why is this important? We support each other in good times and tough times. Jesus calls us to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. When life gives you the highs and the lows, what better way to know God’s presence than having people who love you with you in all phases of life. We call this covenant life.

Second, joining our community brings you into a larger presence of God in this world called the Christian Reformed Church of North America. The CRCNA really extends around the world in ways that shine the light and life of Jesus in beautiful ways.

Lastly, joining our community allows God to work out his gifts in you. We all have gifts to share for the building up of his church. This is why we offer a class that helps you in joining Milwood Community Church. We take membership seriously because God takes you seriously. We are all created in his image and God is always building his image in you as part of the body of Christ.
If you are interested in joining our community as a member, please talk to the pastor or an elder.
